The Biochemistry and Biotechnology Group (B-GEN) within the Bioscience Division is currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic post baccalaureate student who possess a strong interest in software development. We highly encourage candidates with significant expertise in Python, JavaScript, React, front- or back-end development. What You Need

Minimum Job Requirements:
  • Capable of developing maintainable code, understanding software requirements and working on minor bug fixes. Assisting other Software Developers with all aspects of software design and coding.
  • Skilled in comprehending and effectively presenting work in a clear and concise manner.
  • Willingness to assist with short-term projects under tight deadlines and commit to working a minimum of 40 hours per week on a consistent schedule.

Education : A bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or related technical field obtained at the time of hire or within the past 3 years, but have not yet been accepted and enrolled in a graduate program .

Desired Qualifications:
  • Ideally the candidate has interest and/or experience in bioinformatics or genomics .
  • Ideally the candidate has experience in software engineering skills such as testing, version control, CI/CD and automation.

Work Location :

This position can be fully on-site or hybrid with regular on-site time in Los Alamos, NM. The hybrid work requires the person to live within 2 hours of commute to Los Alamos.
