Our wellness facility is looking for a seasoned massage therapist to join our growing team. Our ideal candidate is personable, committed to cultivating an excellent rapport with every client, and has experience with varied physical conditions treatable with massage therapy.

Responsibilities

•Perform various massage techniques to provide relaxation and pain relief for clients
•Maintain a clean and organized workspace to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for clients
•Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and preferences for each session
•Recommend and sell appropriate spa products to enhance clients' relaxation experiences
•Uphold high standards of customer service to ensure client satisfaction and loyalty
•Make sure the massage table and products to be used on the client's skin are ready before every appointment
•Recommend additional products or services that may benefit the client
•Treat clients safely and effectively using the appropriate therapeutic massage techniques that meet their needs
•Evaluate each client's physical condition, stress level, and medical history to determine the most effective types of massage for their course of treatment
•Oversee client plans and treatment progression, and maintain accurate treatment records

Qualifications

•The role requires a current NYS license with prior customer service and/or hotel experience preferred
•Physical requirements include the ability to work long hours, mostly on your feet. Medium workexerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, ability to multi-task
•Must possess the ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with your body and arms, moving quickly and agilely if a situation arises requiring quick assistance
•Will work under variable temperatures and noise levels (although treatment rooms are mostly quiet and relaxing with soft music playing)
•Near Vision - the ability to see details at close range
•Must be able to convey and understand information and ideas in English
•Must have licensure that complies with state and local laws
•Must have worked as a massage therapist in a professional setting for at least one year
•Completion of a massage therapy program preferred
•High school diploma or equivalent
•Proficiency in therapeutic massage techniques such as Swedish massage, deep tissue massage, sports massage, and reflexology
