INTERRELATIONSHIPS:
Maintains open communication lines with Director of Operations, CEO, administrator, intake coordinator, center staff, attending clinicians, patients and families.
STATUS:
Non-Exempt
POSITION PURPOSE
The Director of Food Services must be able to communicate with the client population, administrative staff and other staff members to assure all Food related needs for clientele are met.
- Plan, direct and coordinate the activities associated with running a single site, stand-alone food service operation in a facility with only one kitchen.
- Supervise, train, and instruct team members in general food service practices.
- Coordinate the workflow and assign work to team members who in-turn instruct and train inmate trustees on work techniques and procedures in safe, sanitary and efficient operations of food preparation and service.
- Direct team members to ensure job related rules, policies, procedures, and security guidelines are enforced.
- Maintain product service quality standards by conducting ongoing evaluations and investigating complaints.
- Monitors kitchen for cleanliness, sanitation, safety and order.
- Complies with all required Certification of the State and Federal Laws.
- Prepare all service areas for food and distribute portion-controlled foods.
- Attend monthly staff meetings, and communicate daily with facility staff and administration as assigned by the Administrator.
- Keep temperature records on all refrigerators and freezers.
- Maintain the daily client count for ordering catered food purposes
- Work independently and be able to handle frequent interruptions.
- Must have good organizational skills.
- Must have good interpersonal skills.
- Performs in a professional manner and role- models a positive image.
- Communicates effectively with staff, independent contractors and vendors.
- Understands and adheres to legal guidelines pertaining to patient confidentiality and patient rights.
